Message from Harakoushu
Half
a century has passed since I became involved in “doll
making.” During this period, I was taught by many people
that “there are no differences in the feelings of parents
who think of their own children in all ages,” through
making dolls to celebrate Sekku (a seasonal festival.) I
would like to continue to preserve the wonderful Japanese
traditional culture to “Congratulate and rejoice the
healthy growth of children for each other,” as long
as possible. And, as a doll artist as well as a mother of
children, I do sincerely hope to keep assisting everyone
who celebrates a happy Sekku for years to come.
And, I would be very glad if our website could offer an opportunity
for those outside Japan to get interested in Japanese culture
an art. If you are interested in our works, please also visit
